Marko Arnautovic has completed his move to Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG. And he has sent a parting message to West Ham fans on his personal Instagram account.
Arnautovic said: “Thank you to everyone at West Ham. Especially goodbye and thanks to the fans who were always good to me.”
After two years and 22 goals, it was a 20-word relatively generic statement from Arnautovic. This was in response to West Ham’s blunt 43-word statement on Arnautovic’s exit.
The club are clearly unimpressed with the Austrian’s antics. And this was evident as there was no ‘thank you’ or ‘good luck’ sentiments in the official club statement. After he tried to leave twice, the 30-year-old has bombed out of East London as a very unpopular figure.
West Ham fans have been furious with Arnautovic ever since this China saga started up again. And there are very few kind words said about his leaving message, which insider EXWHUEmployee claims has come from a media company.
Here are some of the best tweets from West Ham fans as Arnie bid farewell with a templated farewell message on Instagram.
