Manuel Pellegrini could miss out on signing Fabian Balbuena this summer but could bring West Ham target Nikola Maksimovic to Real Betis instead according to a report from El Desmarque.

The Hammers have actually made an offer for the 29-year-old centre-back. That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport journalist Antonio Giordano as quoted via Area Napoli.
Central defence is an area where David Moyes really needs to strengthen this summer. Fabian Balbuena recently left after his contract expired at the London Stadium.
And the Scot could do a lot worse than bringing Maksimovic to the London Stadium.

The Chilean is struggling to get a deal for Fabian Balbuena over the line according to El Desmarque.
The Spanish publication suggest that Pellegrini could move for Hammers target Maksimovic, however, if he does indeed miss out on the Paraguayan’s signature.

The Serbia international is available on a free transfer this summer. His contract recently expired with Napoli.
The 29-year-old is a seasoned, grizzly defender. He seems to be ideally suited to the Premier League what with its robust and aggressive nature.
It is easy to see why he would appeal to Moyes and David Sullivan. He’s experienced, better than average and available for nothing…no-brainer eh!

And missing out on Maksimovic to our former manager would be a real kick in the teeth for West Ham.
