Hammers boss David Moyes has been linked with a move to sign King since last summer.
Then, when Sebastien Haller left for Ajax in January, the rumours resurfaced (TV2 and talkSPORT).
The 29-year-old ended up joining Everton from Bournemouth on a short-term deal.

King is now available on a free transfer, however, having been released by the Toffees.
Manuel Pellegrini to beat West Ham to Josh King?
AS claims that the Chilean is keen to bring the 54-capped Norway international to Betis this summer.
Whilst King may not be many Hammers fans’ first choice, he would undoubtedly be a very useful addition to Moyes’s squad.

Betis entering the race for the former Bournemouth star would be somewhat of a blow for West Ham, however.
With finances tight at the London Stadium, the opportunity to sign a decent striker with Premier League experience for absolutely nothing will undoubtedly be one that appeals to David Moyes and the club’s owners.
