West Ham United ace Manuel Lanzini admitted that he could return to River Plate one day, when speaking exclusively to IG Sport.
In other news…Report: West Ham expected to go back in for £50k-a-wk ace this summer, £40m fee needed
The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on a permanent deal in the summer of 2016 for around £9 million (Daily Mail) having impressed during a loan spell in East London the season before.
He enjoyed a brilliant first couple of seasons with West Ham.
Lanzini’s fall from grace over the past few years really has been rather dramatic, however.

His form has dipped since he suffered a serious injury in the build up to the 2018 World Cup. The 28-year-old just seems to be an absolute shadow of his former self.
Lanzini did score a wonder goal earlier on this season away at Tottenham. Aside from that, however, he has barely contributed for the Hammers this term.
Manuel Lanzini admits he could leave West Ham for River Plate one day
Claret and Hugh claimed earlier this month that David Moyes is willing to let the Argentinian ace leave the London Stadium this summer.
And Lanzini himself has told IG Sport that he could leave West Ham for former clubs River Plate or Fluminese:

“River is the club where I was created, where thank God I had the opportunity to play. Who knows, in the future, I may return, but today I am happy here at West Ham. Returning to Brazil would also be an option. At Fluminense, they treated me so well, the fans, very kind people. I was happy there, and maybe one day I’ll come back.”
Claret and Hugh claims that West Ham will be looking for around £15 million for Lanzini this summer.
Judging by the 28-year-old’s comments, however, he doesn’t seem in any rush to leave the London Stadium.
Whether his stance will change if an official bid is made for his services in the summer, however, remains to be seen.
