Manchester United have given Jesse Lingard a two-week deadline to decide whether or not he wants to commit his future to the club amidst heavy links with a permanent move to West Ham United according to Claret and Hugh.

C&H claims that a senior Man United source has told them that Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told the 28-year-old that he would like him to stay at Old Trafford.

That comes after a report from The Daily Star suggested that Lingard has been offered a new £130k-a-week deal to stay with his boyhood club.

Hammers boss David Moyes will obviously be desperate to bring Jesse to the London Stadium on a permanent basis this summer.

The England international was a such a huge success during his loan spell with West Ham last season.

It seems as though we may find out very soon one way or the other where Jesse’s future lies.

Manchester United give Lingard deadline

Claret and Hugh say that a high level source has told them that Lingard is pencilled in for more formal talks with transfer guru John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher in the next 48 hours.

Man United will then demand a definitive answer on his decision before the end of this month.

With Jadon Sancho set to links up with Manchester United next season, staying at Old Trafford would be a strange decision from Lingard.

He is absolutely adored in East London.

The 28-year-old would be our main man. Moving to West Ham permanently would give him a real chance to show England boss Gareth Southgate what he can do leading up to the World Cup in 2022.

The choice seems like an easy one to us. Let’s just hope that Jesse sees it that way too!
