According to BBC Sport, West Ham want to sign Hasan Ali Kaldirim. The Fenerbahce left-back reportedly has a €5m release clause (just less than £4.5m).

The Hammers could be looking for a new left-back this summer. Although it is not a priority, Manuel Pellegrini has chopped and changed between Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.

Pellegrini clearly has reservations about both players. And for a bargain price, Kaldirim could provide a solution in this department.

Kaldirim plays for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig. He is the captain and has been with the club since 2012. But with just 12 months remaining on his contract, he could leave on the cheap.

The 30-cap Turkey international has racked up a total of more than 200 league games for Fenerbahce. He is vastly experienced but has only ever played in Germany and Turkey.

Born in Germany, Kaldirim started his career with Kaiserslautern and he also played for Mainz. However, he was limited to just reserve team games for both clubs.

Kayserispor offered him a route to Turkey in 2010 and he spent two years there before his move to Fenerbahce. The 29-year-old could now be heading to the Premier League and here are some tweets from West Ham fans discussing this rumour.
