Longstanding West Ham striker target Luka Jovic has effectively been transfer listed by European giants Real Madrid.

West Ham fans will be very familiar with Jovic’s name having been linked with the Serbian striker ever since David Moyes arrived in east London.

Jovic joined Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2019 for around £55 million (AS).

But his career has hit a wall since he moved to Spain with just 51 appearances and three goals to his name in three seasons.

The alleged West Ham target was loaned back to Frankfurt for the 2020-21 season but only managed four goals in 18 appearances.

Just over a month ago, there were reports that West Ham are allegedly back in the race to sign the Real Madrid flop in the summer transfer window.

Mundo Deportivo claimed that the 24-year-old striker’s time with Real Madrid is coming to an end and West Ham want to sign him.

The report from Mundo Deportivo stated that the forward – who had a goal ratio better than one every two games prior to his move to Real – is firmly on the Hammers’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window opening this week.

The world and its wife knows Moyes is desperate to bring a new striker to West Ham. Indeed he has been ever since selling Jovic’s old striker partner Sebastien Haller to Ajax 18 months ago.

And if the Scot is genuinely interested in Jovic then he will be hugely encouraged by a new report from Spanish outlet Marca.

Because it states that longstanding West Ham striker target Jovic has effectively been transfer listed by European giants Real Madrid ahead of the window opening.

Marca are reporting that Real have a list of nine players that they are happy to sell this summer and Jovic is one of them.

What will encourage West Ham further still is Marca’s claim that Jovic is ‘determined’ to leave too – as also reported by Football Espana.

Despite his struggles with Madrid, Jovic would be an exceptional addition for West Ham and is still at a great age.

He proved his quality during his time with Frankfurt, scoring 40 goals and laying on 10 assists in 93 appearances for the Bundesliga side (Transfermarkt).

The report does state that newly crowned Serie A champions AC Milan might also be interested.

So Moyes and West Ham will have to get their act together if they want to bring Jovic to the London Stadium.
