West Ham have now accepted that Declan Rice will leave in the summer of 2023, and Liverpool and Chelsea are at the front of the queue for his signature.

That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk who claim that Liverpool and Chelsea are both interested in prising Rice away from the London Stadium.

The 23-year-old is out of contract with the Hammers in the summer of 2024, but crucially, we have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

I think that the majority of West Ham fans have come to terms with the thought of Rice leaving at some point in the near future.

And it seems as though the powers that be at the Hammers have as well, with Liverpool and Chelsea lurking…

The 23-year-old is the best and most important player at the London Stadium. That statement is beyond question.

David Moyes will be desperate to keep him at the club, and it will take at least £100 million to prise him away from West Ham, according to the likes of The Daily Mail.

If the Reds or the Blues make on offer in that region for the England International in the summer of 2023, the Hammers owners will undoubtedly sell him.

And who can blame them?

The upcoming summer transfer window will be the last opportunity we have to get maximum value for Rice. Keep hold of him any longer than that and his value will begin to tumble as his contract continues to run down.

What I would say now is that we had better appreciate Rice, and enjoy him while we still can.

It won’t be long before the 23-year-old leaves the London Stadium, as hard as that is to admit.

And with Liverpool and Chelsea keen to sign Declan Rice, it seems likely that the West Ham man will remain in the Premier League.
