And if the Reds do make a move to sign the 24-year-old midfield powerhouse, the Hammers’ hopes could be all but over.
David Moyes wants to bring the Brighton ace to the London Stadium this summer.
Unfortunately for West Ham, however, Klopp seems to be very keen to bring him to Anfield as well.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ‘extensively scouting’ Yves Bissouma
The Times claims that the German has been scouting the Mali international heavily, assessing his ‘character’ and ‘off-field behaviour’.
The 24-year-old Brighton ace has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season.
With his energy, incredible drive, tenacious tackling and impressive array of passing, Bissouma seems to have all of the ingredients needed to become one of the very best box-to-box midfielders in the game.
In 33 Premier League appearances for Brighton this season, he has averaged 2.8 tackles, 1.7 interceptions, 1.8 clearances and 1.5 dribbles per game. He has made 45.8 passes per match on average with a hugely impressive completion rate of 87.1% (Who Scored).
Bissouma would be a truly exceptional addition for West Ham.
With Liverpool allegedly stepping up their interest in the Brighton ace, however, the Hammers could be fighting a losing battle.
And if Jurgen Klopp wins the race for Bissouma’s signature, Liverpool’s gain would very much be West Ham’s loss.
