Lille boss Christophe Galtier is open to the idea of selling alleged West Ham target Victor Osimhen in the summer, as quoted via Afriquesports.net.

The Hammers were keen to keen to sign the 21-year-old during the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

But that move obviously failed to materialise.

Osimhen has been in fine form this season for Lille, with 18 goals and six assists to his name in 37 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

The Nigeria international is clearly a real talent. This is obvious to see with Sky Sports claiming that Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham also want to sign the striker.

The youngster is under contract with Lille until the summer of 2024, and the Ligue 1 outfit allegedly value him at around £60 million, according to RMC Sports.

Now that kind of fee will surely be too much for West Ham. Perhaps if Lille would be prepared to accept around half of that amount, the Hammers might have a chance.

And Lille boss Christophe Galtier suggested that if a big club comes in for Osimhen, it might be hard to keep hold of him, as quoted by Afriquesports.net:

“Victor said he wanted to stay here next season. He is a sincere boy, he is happy here. He is well appreciated and adored by the fans. Then, if in a few weeks big teams arrive with an interest in him, he will have to listen. That’s the logic of things.”

Now, with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Cheslea also thought to be keen on the Nigerian, it will be very hard for West Ham to bring him to the London Stadium.

That is even if they manage to raise the funds to sign Osimhen.

The most important thing for the Hammers, however, is that they remain in the Premier League this season. Then who knows who they will be able to attract in the summer.
