West Ham have been scouting Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara, according to reliable insider EXWHUEmployee. Kamara is one of many French players on West Ham’s radar.
The Hammers have been scouting in Ligue 1 and Kamara has caught the eye. The 19-year-old played 35 times for Marseille last season despite his young age.
Operating predominantly as a centre-back, Kamara has also played in midfield and as a left-back. The teenager helped his side to a fifth-place finish last season in Ligue 1.
The France U20 international has recently been in action at the U20 World Cup. West Ham have been scouting him for a few months, as per EXWHUEmployee, and could make a move.
This deal would be similar to the Issa Diop signing last summer. West Ham snapped up Toulouse’s captain and he has been impressive. The 22-year-old centre-back is already a regular at West Ham and is getting better with each game he plays.
Kamara and Diop could be West Ham’s long-term centre-back pairing. This is the idea with Manuel Pellegrini in the market for a new centre-back.
Here are some tweets from West Ham fans discussing the interest in Kamara.

Is an interesting link with Marseille needing to sell so they don’t incur FFP penalties. Makes what would have been very expensive outside target very much more promising as other players not attracting bids & cut price deal could be on offer to start balancing the books
