West Ham United could face a battle with Leeds United for Ajax ace Nicolas Tagliafico this summer.
David Moyes should be looking to sign a new left-back at the end of the season.
Arthur Masuaku is more suited to playing the wing-back role whilst Aaron Cresswell is better when operating as a centre-back now.
One of West Ham’s potential summer targets is Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico according to a report from Mundo Deportivo.
The 28-year-old Argentinian left-back would be an exceptional addition for the Hammers.
Leeds join West Ham in Nicolas Tagliafico race
Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa wants to bring the Ajax man to Elland Road this summer according to a report from the Mirror.
Tagliafico is a vastly experienced defender. He has played at the very highest level for a sustained period of time.
The 28-capped Argentina international has racked up 13 goals and 18 assists in 135 appearances for Ajax (Transfermarkt).
In 22 Eredivisie outings this season, Tagliafico has averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.7 interceptions and 1.3 clearances per game. He has averaged 48 passes per game with an impressive completion rate of 82.7% (Who Scored).
The South American could be available for around £17.5 million this summer (The Sun).
That is very good value for a player with Tagliafico’s undoubted quality.
West Ham may well have their work cut-out if they are to sign the 28-year-old in the summer, however, with Leeds thought to be prioritising a move for the Ajax ace.
If the Hammers qualify for Europe, however, we might just have the upper hand on Leeds.
