A journalist has revealed that West Ham striker target Vangelis Pavlidis is pushing for a summer move but there’s a slight problem.
It seemed almost certain West Ham would look to sign a striker in the last two windows.
But David Moyes elected not despite the sale of Gianluca Scamacca and the fact Danny Ings clearly doesn’t fit into his system.
West Ham were linked with a plethora of strikers last summer and in the winter window.
But in the end none arrived.
One of those heavily linked with a move to West Ham is Vangelis Pavlidis – a player Hammers fans will remember from our games against AZ Alkmaar.
West Ham target Pavlidis wants summer move
Pavlidis, 25, has been closely monitored by West Ham. And 90min claimed Hammers scouts were present – and impressed – when watching the big Greek striker bag a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Heerenveen earlier this season.
With Michail Antonio turning 35 next season and a complete lack of depth up front, West Ham must address the striker issue this summer.
And it seems there’s mixed news on that front.
Because a journalist says West Ham striker target Pavlidis is pushing for a summer move but there’s a slight problem.

Good news on fee, bad news on competition
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has announced Pavlidis is planning to get a transfer away from Alkmaar this summer.
Better still he will cost as little as £12-15m as his contract is up next year.
The problem for West Ham’s owners is that eight clubs – likely including the Hammers – are said to be interested in the star who has netted 24 goals in 27 games this term.
“News on Pavlidis,” Plettenberg said on X.
“The 25 year-old top striker from Alkmaar is planning a transfer in the summer!
“Eight clubs are pushing for him. Among them are also clubs from the Bundesliga.
“Legend Van Gaal, a big fan of Pavlidis. Price valuation: €15-18m (£12-15m) all-in as his contract is only valid until 2025.
“(Pavlidis has) 24 goals and two assists this Eredivisie season (so far) and three goals in the Conference League. One to watch in the next weeks!”
Get Steidten to the Greek
In January we reported on an interview with Pavlidis in which he said he felt physically and technically ready to take the next step in his career this summer.
West Ham might have a secret weapon in luring him to the London Stadium despite the reported frenzied interest.
That being a certain Konstantinos Mavropanos – a Greek international teammate of Pavlidis.
He is big, powerful, quick and versatile as he can play as striker, second striker and off both the left and right.
Check out his obligatory YouTube compilation for an idea about what he might brig to West Ham.
