Journalist delivers exclusive new information on West Ham deal to sign PSG midfielder Carlos Soler before the transfer window deadline.

News emerged this morning that West Ham had agreed a deal for James Ward-Prowse with Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder travelled to Forest this morning for his medical.

As soon as that news emerged, it was clear West Ham were going to be signing PSG’s Carlos Soler.

The Spaniard has been linked with the Hammers ever since the club made Aaron Wan-Bissaka their last signing a few weeks ago.

Shock new revelation about West Ham’s Soler deal

It was widely reported Soler had spoken to West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui – who worked together in the Spain squad – and was keen on the move.

Earlier this month Fabrizio Romano claimed Soler would be West Ham’s ninth signing of a busy summer.

Now this evening the Hammers are in a race against time to prove that claim correct.

Yesterday the top spokesman at West Ham said PSG wanted too much for Soler.

The Hammers described a deal to sign the star as “overpriced”.

Journalist reveals intriguing quirk to Soler’s West Ham move

Any West Ham arrivals before the deadline were always going to be loans with options or obligations regardless of departures.

But now new information has come to light regarding the move for Lopetegui’s compatriot.

A journalist has made a shock new revelation about West Ham’s Soler deal.

Earlier today it was claimed that West Ham’s deal for Soler was a loan with an option to buy at just under £17m.

It has also been claimed there will be an obligation clause included if certain milestones are met.

Well-connected journalist Graeme Bailey has spoken exclusively to Hammers News about the Soler transfer.

Hammers signing Soler on two-year loan with obligation

And Bailey has revealed that in fact West Ham’s move for Soler will be a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy.

“Carlos Soler to West Ham is a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy,” Bailey exclusively told Hammers News a few hours out from deadline.

The 27-year-old – who can play in a variety of midfield roles – has reportedly spoken to Lopetegui on numerous occasions about the move.

And he has been keen to join him at West Ham.

Interestingly Soler signing on a two-year loan with obligation ties in with Lopetegui’s contract length.

West Ham have not made it official but the Hammers head coach has a two-year deal with a third year automatically triggered if the club qualifies for any European competition in that time.
