The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with the Hammers and he was a huge hit at the London Stadium.
Lingard bagged nine goals and four assists in 16 Premier League games for West Ham and he played a key role in our sixth placed finish.
David Moyes absolutely loved Jesse. And it was clear to see that the Scot prioritised the permanent signing of the Man United ace as soon as last season ended.

It seemed as though Lingard could be set to stay at Manchester United this summer, however.
The 28-year-old wanted to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as quoted by Manchester United’s official website.
That all may have changed now though.

Jesse Lingard wants West Ham move
That’s according to ExWHUemployee who suggests that the 28-year-old has changed his mind after not being given assurances of regular action at Old Trafford this season.
Lingard would be a great addition for West Ham. The Daily Star reckon that the Red Devils have dropped their asking price for Jesse from £35 million down to £20 million.
Bringing Jesse back to the London Stadium on a permanent deal is a no-brainer for the Hammers if he does indeed want a return.
