West Ham United have found their answer to Jamie Vardy with the signing of Jarrod Bowen.
That’s according to influential former West Ham academy boss Terry Westley.
Bowen was signed by David Moyes for £20million from Hull City in January.
Brief cameos in games against Manchester City and Liverpool gave West Ham fans a taste of Bowen’s talents.

Bowen’s brilliant bow
And they were left in no doubt after his brilliant debut and goal in the 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday.
Now ex academy chief Westley claims Bowen can have the same impact for West Ham that striker Jamie Vardy has had at Leicester City (Claret & Hugh).
“Premier League defenders are going to find him a real handful because by and large the game at that level is about one touch passing and the like,” Westley told Claret & Hugh.

Influential former academy boss likens Jarrod to Jamie
“Jarrod brings something different – something they aren’t used to – because this boy likes to go one on one with players and has more than enough ability to beat them.
“He could have the sort of impact as Jamie Vardy when he hits the top level.
“They are not the same types of player but this lad has real ability and although he won’t be our sole salvation he’s gonna be a big part of it.”

Hammers fans will be excited by comparison
The comparison will excite West Ham fans.
Vardy’s pace, raw talent, attitude, workrate and desire have helped transform Leicester from relegation candidates to one of the top sides in the Premier League.
Bowen seems to have all those attributes, and boy can he finish too.
If Moyes can finish the job and keep West Ham up the club could have a really bright future.
The Scot is planning to build a young, hungry team. And Bowen is undoubtedly the first piece in the jigsaw.
