Ivan Toney to West Ham is looking more and more unlikely with each day that passes this summer.

Hammers insiders Claret and Hugh have just claimed that the 25-year-old striker could now cost in excess of £30 million if David Moyes wants to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.

The Scot is obviously in desperate need of signing a top class centre-forward this summer.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney certainly fits into that category.

He was in sensational form for the Bees last season with 33 goals and 10 assists to his name in 52 games (Transfermarkt).

Ivan Toney to West Ham seems unlikely

The 25-year-old is a very good striker.

If truth be told, however, there is no way the Hammers should be paying more than £30 million to sign him.

Toney is worth £25 million absolute tops.

The former Newcastle front-man has never proven himself at Premier League level. So splashing out more than £30 million for his services would be reckless in the extreme.

There are far better and more proven strikers out there available for similar fees.

It could be argued that the likes of Tammy Abraham, Odsonne Edouard, Boulaye Dia and Youssef En-Nesyri would all be better and more cost effective options than Toney.

David Moyes must get the striker signing absolutely spot on this summer.

And if Brentford are truly demanding more than £30 million for Ivan Toney, the Hammers should just walk away.
