Manuel Lanzini is an international star and has been scouted by top clubs such as Besiktas, Galatasaray, Valencia, Villarreal and Inter Milan. Lanzini was born in Ituzaingó, Buenos Aires, but holds an Italian passport. Furthermore, Manuel is nicknamed “the Jewel” and when the Hammers signed him, the newspaper article read “Hammers snatch The Jewel” which was a very good reading. Lastly, he’s on loan from Al Jazira Club, in which he became the youngest foreign player, at the age of 21, to play in the UAE Arabian Gulf League.
Since joining the Hammers, Manuel Lanzini has scored a total of three goals and has assisted many other goals too. His three goals came one by one, against Astra (Europa League) on his debut, then away to Liverpool in which West Ham won 3-0, then finally he scored a decisive 2nd goal at Selhurst Park when West Ham recorded their fourth away win of the Premier League season.
The news that all Hammers fans wants to hear is that Manuel Lanzini is up for grabs for a rumoured fee of £5mil – to – £8mil due to his buy-out clause. Looking at Lanzini’s performances this season, West Ham’s board would be very stupid not to take the opportunity to buy him as he looks to have settled into the Premier League as does Dimitri Payet.
Let’s briefly discuss the positives of Manuel Lanzini so far, shall we… Firstly, he is very aware of where each opposition player is on the pitch, so he knows which way to go and when to dribble with the ball, or shield it. Secondly, his footwork is sublime and is right up there with the very best in the Premier League. Manuel Lanzini is one of those players that doesn’t shy away from the big occasions, as proven when he’s came against the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Scott Dann and Nicolas Otamendi. Lastly, he’s not known to be one dimensional and can play in more than one position such as a centre attacking midfielder’s role, or a winger.
What’s your thoughts as a supporter who watches Manuel Lanzini on a weekly basis? Is he worth £5mil – to – £8mil?
