Craig Dawson will cost somewhere in the region of £2-3 million if West Ham United want to sign him on a permanent deal this month according to a report from club insiders Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers signed the 30-year-old on a season-long loan from Watford in October.

At the time, the transfer raised the eyebrows of many West Ham fans.

Dawson was viewed as a relegation merchant – a Championship level player who would offer the Hammers little.

That view couldn’t have been more wrong, however.

The Watford owned ace has proven to be a fine addition by David Moyes.

He’s made four appearances for West Ham, keeping four clean sheets in the process – a truly remarkable record!

Dawson has forged a wonderful partnership with Angelo Ogbonna at the heart of the Hammers defence.

Signing him on a permanent deal now seems like somewhat of a no-brainer. If nothing else it will free up a place for the club to make a mother domestic loan signing this month.

West Ham to make Craig Dawson deal permanent?

Claret and Hugh claims that West Ham could make the 30-year-old’s loan deal a permanent one for just £2-3 million.

That really is a bargain fee despite the financial problems caused by the global health crisis.

At 30, Dawson probably has three or four years left at the very highest level. Bringing him to the London Stadium for around £2 million on a two or three-year contract really is a no-brainer for David Moyes.

It is not an exaggeration to say that the Watford owned defender has made himself undroppable over the past few weeks.

And for that alone, he deserves a permanent move to East London.
