ExWHUemployee has claimed today that West Ham midfielder Marcus Browne is on his way to Middlesbrough to complete a switch to the Riverside, pending a medical.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with Oxford United in League One, and he really impressed.

The midfielder racked up nine goals and five assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.

Considering West Ham’s strength in midfield, however, the young midfielder would have had next to no chance of breaking into the first-team.

So a move to Middlesbrough will surely be the ideal solution for all parties involved.

ExWHUemployee took to Twitter today, and confirmed that Browne is heading to Middlesbrough now to sign a permanent deal with Jonathan Woodgate’s side:

The 21-year-old is an attacking midfielder, and he possesses exceptional technical ability.

Whilst West Ham will not miss Browne, he will surely prove to be a really useful addition for Middlesbrough.

Manuel Pellegrini will just be hoping that the midfielder doesn’t blow up and become a real star, however.

The fee Middlesbrough will be paying the Hammers has not yet been reported.
