When speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday, July 24th), ExWHUemployee suggested that the Hammers could make a loan move for Tottenham midfielder victor Wanyama towards the end of the transfer window.
The Kenyan might struggle for first-team action with Spurs this season. So he might just be tempted to join West Ham.
Manuel Pellegrini is thought to be on the lookout for another central midfielder, with Pedro Obiang set to join Sassuolo.
And Wanyama, 27, could be just the ticket for the Hammers.
He joined Tottenham from Southampton in the summer of 2016, and has gone on to make 93 appearances in all competitions for the north London club.
The Kenya international, who earns £65,000 per week according to Spotrac, is a tough-tackling, tenacious ball-winning midfielder, and he would add some real steel to West Ham’s midfield.
ExWHUemployee suggested that the east London outfit could make a loan move for Wanyama this summer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday, July 24th):
“Wanyama from Spurs. The problem with Tottenham is that we really struggle to deal with them. They don’t like to do business with us and vice-versa. There may be a loan at the end of the window, but it’s going to depend on Tottenham.”
The Tottenham midfielder would undoubtedly be a smart addition for West Ham.
He’s strong, loves a physical battle, and he’s Premier League ready.
As was mentioned, however, a lot will depend on whether Spurs actually want to do business with the Hammers.
