West Ham have been pressing ahead in their attempts to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller. Some media outlets, such as The Daily Mail, have jumped the gun and suggested it is as good as a done deal.
But West Ham’s trusted insider has warned that there could be a late hijack. According to EXWHUEmployee, Manchester United are also keen on Haller.
Man United have not yet made a bid for the French striker. But if Romelu Lukaku departs, they will make their move. If West Ham stall on this deal, Haller could move to Old Trafford instead.
West Ham must hurry
Haller is clearly West Ham’s top striker target now. After missing out on Maxi Gomez, Haller has been identified as the man to replace Marko Arnautovic. But Man United’s interest is a serious concern. If it is a straight shootout between West Ham and Man United, the player is likely to want to join the latter.
This is why West Ham must get this deal over the line quickly. As of this morning, EXWHUEmployee claimed that the fee, structuring of payment, personal terms and medical all needed completion before this deal is finalised.
There is a long way to go for West Ham. But the Hammers cannot afford to wait too long. If Lukaku leaves Man United, West Ham might miss out on another marquee striker target.
