West Ham insider ExWHUemployee claimed that he has heard from three separate sources that Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe would be interested in taking the Hammers job, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday December 18th).
Manuel Pellegrini is currently under real pressure, despite last weekend’s win over Southampton.
West Ham have won just two out of their last 11 Premier League games. And with games against Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Bournemouth to come, the Chilean will be feeling the heat.
And if the Hammers fail to win any of those games, the 66-year-old’s spell in charge of the club could very well come to an end.
ExWHUemployee suggested that Eddie Howe is a potential candidate to replace Pellegrini. And he claimed that the Bournemouth boss would be very interested in the West Ham job, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday, December 18th):
“Eddie Howe’s contract has expires in the summer. The thing is, I know from three different sources, that he would consider the job. Why wouldn’t he? It would be a step up. His assistant manager is from a West Ham family. They’ve got strong West Ham ties. His agency is the same as Declan Rice and Jack Wilshere’s and a few others.”
Howe’s Bournemouth have been struggling themselves of late, so the jury is still out on the 42-year-old.
He does like his team to play exciting, attacking football, however, and that would undoubtedly appeal to the West Ham fans.
Pellegrini seems to be a dead man walking at the London Stadium.
It only seems to be a matter of time before he is moved on. And by the sounds of it, the Cherries boss could very well take the Chilean’s place.
