Reliable insider EXWHUEmployee has told his followers that West Ham have been scouting in France. Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara has been scouted by West Ham in recent months, according to EXWHUEmployee.
Issa Diop-style signing
Kamara is one of a number of players that West Ham have scouting in France. West Ham may look at the success of Issa Diop as the model for success in the transfer market.
The Hammers snapped up Toulouse captain Diop last summer for a club-record fee at the time. The Frenchman, 22, has been a regular for West Ham this season.
Despite his young age, Diop has adjusted to life in England very well. He enjoyed a stunning season and is already a fan favourite at The London Stadium. Diop’s success could convince West Ham to look at more deals like this, such as Kamara.
Who is Boubacar Kamara?
Marseille defender Kamara is one of France’s finest young talents. The France U20 international has been showcasing his ability during the U20 World Cup.
Kamara predominantly operates as a centre-back but can play at left-back or as a holding midfielder. This versatility will appeal to Manuel Pellegrini, who wants reinforcements in all three of those positions.
Despite his young age, Kamara was a regular for Marseille last season. The 19-year-old played 36 games, including 31 in Ligue 1, as Marseille finished fifth. He has already played over 50 games and could be West Ham’s next Diop-style star.
