West Ham have made Sebastien Haller their number one target. But as their striker hunt intensifies, Eintracht Frankfurt are determined to fend off West Ham and keep their leading forward.
According to reliable West Ham insider EXWHUEmployee, there is truth behind suggestions that Frankfurt will improve Haller’s contract to keep him in Germany.
If yet another striker pursuit falls through after a long chase, West Ham fans will become increasingly frustrated. It has happened all too regularly in the last few transfer windows.
Insider gives Sebastien Haller update
West Ham fans have been bombarding EXWHUEmployee’s Twitter feed with questions about the Haller deal. Supporters are itching to find out the latest gossip and whether West Ham are closer to signing a striker.
When asked whether there was any truth behind suggestions Frankfurt will offer Haller a lucrative new deal, EXWHUEmployee said:
“They do not want to lose him especially as they lost their other forward this window. We haven’t agreed a fee so I would say it’s accurate we just have to make sure we get something accepted soon again before it’s too late.”
Why West Ham need Sebastien Haller
West Ham have been searching for a marquee striker for many years now. The last forward to hit 20 goals in a Premier League season for the Hammers was Tony Cottee, showing the desperate need for a talented frontman.
Over the past few years, some exciting names have been linked with West Ham. But these negotiations always seem to fall at the last hurdle with the player ending up moving elsewhere.
Michy Batshuayi, Alexandre Lacazette and Carlos Bacca spring to mind from past seasons, while West Ham’s protracted Maxi Gomez hunt brings back the same nightmares.
West Ham must avoid a repeat of this and get the Haller deal done. After losing Marko Arnautovic, this is West Ham’s priority and the club cannot afford to miss out on their new top target.
