Claret and Hugh have today claimed that West Ham ace Felipe Anderson could be sold this summer.
The 26-year-old joined West Ham from Lazio in the summer of 2018 for around £42 million (The Guardian).
The Brazilian made a decent start to life in England, racking up 10 goals and five assists in 40 appearances in his debut campaign for the Hammers (Transfermarkt).
Anderson’s form has dipped dramatically this season, however.
The 26-year-old has chalked up just one goal and five assists in 24 games in all competitions for West Ham since August (Transfermarkt).
The South American has struggled with his form and fitness this season. And his confidence is clearly at rock bottom as well.
And Claret and Hugh claims that the £42 million man could be moved on this summer. It is suggested that David Moyes is keen to use Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals on either wing, with Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek in the middle going forward.
If this is the case, Anderson will obviously not be happy with a bit-part role.
The Brazilian, who earns around £80,000 per week according to Sky Sports, still has a lot to prove to Moyes and the West Ham fans.
If the 26-year-old returns to somewhere near his best, he should have no problem forcing his way back into the team.
Only time will tell, however, if Anderson has the stomach for the fight. If he doesn’t, it would be no surprise to see Moyes sell the former Lazio man at the end of this season.
