West Ham United have been on the hunt for coaches to assist David Moyes.
The Scot has only added Alan Irvine in his backroom staff since returning to the club.
Many fans have seen that as a lack of planning from Moyes and the unpopular co-owners.
The likes of Stuart Pearce and Billy McKinlay – who assisted Moyes during his first spell in charge – have been linked as has Joe Cole (The Sun).
Moyes had said he would wait until the summer to assemble his backroom staff.

But West Ham face an uphill battle to survive and Moyes may not be around if the club is relegated.
It appears steps have been taken to bolster Moyes’s backroom team with former captain Kevin Nolan and one-time England coach Paul Nevin set to be appointed, possibly today.
That’s according to reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee.
The Sun has reported that popular former skipper Nolan will return.
Insider says Nolan and Nevin could be announced today
And Nevin, 50, who is currently working at the FA and was part of England boss Gareth Southgate’s staff at last year’s Uefa Nations League finals is set to join him.
Now ExWHUemployee had confirmed the double appointment and says it could be announced today.
“Kevin Nolan and Paul Nevin could be appointed as coaches tomorrow by the club,” ExWHUemployee said on Wednesday night.
Baptism of fire for duo?
Nolan managed Notts County for 18months and was one of West Ham’s best captains of the modern era.
As well as his role with England, Nevin has also worked for the Premier League and at Brighton and Norwich in wide-ranging jobs from coach development to youth programmes.
It will be a baptism of fire for Nolan and Nevin.
Their first task? To help West Ham stop the rot and get a positive result away to Manchester City on Sunday.
They then have two weeks to bed in during the inaugural winter break.
