ExWHUemployee has claimed on Twitter that West Ham are looking at Southampton full-back Cedric Soares.
The Hammers need to strengthen in the right-back department, with Pablo Zabaleta set to leave in the summer.
Cedric will not excite West Ham fans too much, however.
The 28-year-old has 33 international caps for Portugal to his name, so he is obviously a decent player.
But with the recent evolution of full-backs, the Southampton man is being left behind.
He lacks any kind of pace, and offers little from an attacking perspective.
Having said all of that, the Southampton man would provide useful cover and competition for Ryan Fredericks.
It is unclear how much West Ham would have to pay for Cedric. He joined the Saints for £4.7 million in 2015, according to BBC Sport. So the south coast club will surely be keen to recoup a similar fee for the right-back, especially if they were to sell him to a rival Premier League club.
