Just when West Ham United fans thought things could not get much worse comes a new claim from reliable insider ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers were thumped 3-0 at Burnley on Saturday.
As a result Manuel Pellegrini’s struggling side have gone SEVEN games without a win.
The Hammers have plummeted from third to 16th in the Premier League and face a daunting run of fixtures.
By the time West Ham are back in action – against Spurs on November 23rd – it will be two months since they last tasted victory.
Hammers in freefall
Some supporters have been calling for Pellegrini to be sacked.
Others feel the board are to blame. And the unrest which resulted in angry protests 18 months ago – ironically during a 3-0 defeat to Burnley – is resurfacing with a vengeance.
West Ham had been widely tipped to challenge for the European spots alongside the likes of Leicester City and Wolves after a fine start.
Insider makes devastating Rodgers claim
But Hammers fans can only look on enviously at the Foxes strutting their stuff under Brendan Rodgers.
Now reliable insider ExWHUemployee has driven another dagger into the heart of West Ham supporters by claiming the club approached the former Liverpool boss BEFORE Leicester did.
Unfortunately for West Ham, though, Rodgers turned David Sullivan and David Gold down and opted to move to Leicester instead.
Sullivan and Gold must be the problem?
The revelation will only serve to worsen the mood of West Ham fans.
West Ham are a big club with much bigger fanbase than Leicester, play in a 60,000 seater stadium with the second most season ticket holders in the Premier League.
So it can only be a reluctance to work with Sullivan and Gold and/or reservations about the club’s ambitions and spending power that put Rodgers off.
