West Ham United are interested in signing young Wigan Athletic left-back Antonee Robinson according to a report at the weekend.
And West Ham insiders Claret & Hugh are also now carrying a report on David Moyes’s interest.
The Hammers website has a direct line to co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold.
Report claims Moyes wants Robinson
The Sun on Sunday reporter Alan Nixon says West Ham boss David Moyes is ‘heading the queue’ for Robinson’s signature alongside West Bromwich Albion manager and former Hammer Slaven Bilic – provided they are promoted.
Now Claret & Hugh has also carried a report on West Ham’s interest.
The original report claims West Ham have been monitoring Robinson with a view to a summer move.
Robinson’s name may be familiar to fans. He famously saw a dream move from Wigan to AC Milan fall through at the 11th hour in the January transfer window over a problem but his medical.
Insider also reporting interest
“West Ham is claimed to be tracking the situation with Wigan’s Antonee Robinson who has returned to training after undergoing treatment on a heart issue detected during a failed transfer to AC Milan in January,” Claret & Hugh states.
“The 22-year-old defender was poised to make a seven-figure move to the Serie A side, only for an irregular heart rhythm to show up during his medical.
“He has since had further tests and treatment and returned with his doctors telling him he doesn’t require further medical procedures.”
Robinson ticks Moyes ‘young and hungry’ boxes
West Ham are reportedly open to selling wildly inconsistent left-back Arthur Masuaku this summer.
So the interest in Robinson tallies up.
The young defender also fits the profile of player Moyes wants to bring to West Ham.
Moyes cited his success turning Championship players into Premier League stars while at Everton.
And West Ham fans are very receptive to seeing him build something similar in east London.
