IFK Norrköping manager Jens Gustafsson spoke to reporters today, and insisted that Sead Haksabanovic will not be returning to West Ham in January.

The 21-year-old joined the Swedish outfit in January this year on loan. And he has been in sensational form.

Haksabanovic has racked up eight goals and eight assists in 34 appearances for IFK Norrköping.

This has led to talk that West Ham could recall the talented young midfielder in January.

Claret and Hugh reported last month that the Hammers management have been impressed with the Montenegro international’s form.

IFK Norrköping manager Jens Gustafsson appears to have poured cold water on talk of Haksabanovic returning early to West Ham, however.

Gustafsson spoke to Swedish media outlet Fotboll Direkt:

“He will play for IFK, we have an agreement to prove it.”

Haksabanovic struggled to prove himself at West Ham. And it seems as though his time away from east London on loan has done him the world of good.

Whether he has the quality to succeed in the Premier League remains to be seen, however.

Either way, it seems as though the young Montenegro international will have a little longer yet to improve even further still before he makes his return to east london.
