According to a report from Italian media outlet Area Napoli, Aston Villa have already made an £8.8 million bid for Marseille midfielder Maxime Lopez, but West Ham are prepared to pay up to £13 million for the French ace.

Both the Hammers and the Villans will both be keen to bolster their central midfield ranks at the end of the season.

Potential bargain

And Lopez could be just the man for the job.

Area Napoli have claimed that Marseille will demand at least £18 million for the midfield ace.

French media outlet Le 10 Sport claims that the 22-year-old could now be sold on the cheap, however.

Marseille could allegedly sell the Frenchman for just £10 million this summer (Daily Star).

Stats

The 22-year-old has racked up three assists in 23 league outings for Marseille so far this season (Transfermarkt).

In those 23 appearances, he has averaged 37.7 passes per game, with an incredibly impressive completion rate of 89.5% (Who Scored).

Lopez has also averaged 0.8 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game during that period (Who Scored).

The 22-year-old is a very classy midfield operator. And he will be a great addition for either West Ham or Aston Villa.

Especially for the reported fee of just £10m.
