Fabian Balbuena is likely to leave West Ham United this summer according to a report from club insiders Claret and Hugh.
The 29-year-old joined the Hammers from Corinthians in the summer of 2018. He cost just £3.5 million according to the Evening Standard.
Balbuena impressed for West Ham during his debut campaign in England.
The 14-capped Paraguay international struggled during the 2019/20 campaign but returned to somewhere near his best at the start of this season.
Unfortunately for the 29-year-old, Craig Dawson’s emergence just after Christmas relegated him to a place on the bench.
Fabian Balbuena likely to leave West Ham
He hasn’t really had a look-in nice the turn of the year.
Balbuena is out of contract with West Ham in the summer.
Claret and Hugh reckon that the 6ft 2 in centre-back’s days at the London Stadium could be numbered.
The General is expected to leave the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer according to the high level club insiders.
David Moyes has plenty of central defensive options. It is one area where we are fairly well stocked. The Hammers have the likes of Frederik Alves, Aji Alese and Jamal Baptiste coming through the ranks.
Whether Moyes decides to bring in another centre-back is unlikely, especially with Craig Dawson set to join West Ham permanently in the summer.
Balbuena has been a decent servant for the Hammers. Moving him on this summer will be the right call, however.
