Arsenal want to hijack West Ham United’s move to sign Jesse Lingard from Manchester United in the summer according to a report from the Daily Star.

Hammers boss David Moyes brought the 28-year-old to the London Stadium on loan from Man United in January.

Lingard has proven to be a truly exceptional addition for West Ham. He has registered six goals and three assists in just eight games for the Hammers so far.

It is clear to see that he still has so much to offer at the very highest level.

And because of that, the Daily Star claims that Arsenal are ready to hijack West Ham’s move to sign Jesse in the summer.

Manchester United want around £30 million for Lingard (Daily Star).

It is little wonder that the 26-capped England international is attracting plenty of attention ahead of the summer transfer window.

He’s been that good.

Arsenal to hijack West Ham for Jesse Lingard?

The Gunners have struggled this season. And it could be argued that the Hammers are a more attractive prospect for potential new signings at the moment than their London rivals.

Arsenal do still have a huge pull of course. So their interest in Lingard could prove to be problematic.

Jesse is clearly loving life at West Ham, however. He is absolutely ripping it up in East London. And if David Moyes’s men qualify for Europe, there is no reason why he wouldn’t want to join us permanently.

Mikel Arteta may well want to bring Lingard to the Emirates.

We reckon Arsenal will have their work cut-out if they are to beat West Ham in the race for his signature, however.
