Has Jack Wilshere just suggested his time at West Ham is up with loan move hint?

West Ham United flop Jack Wilshere did his best Sherlock Holmes impression at the weekend.

The injury-plagued West Ham midfielder left fans saying ‘no kidding’ after telling YouTube channel StadiumAstro the move to his boyhood club has not worked out.

Wilshere has made just 16 appearances in two seasons at West Ham since joining from Arsenal.

Injuries have blighted Wilshere’s career and that has been the case yet again again.

Wilshere states the obvious over failed Hammers move

Crucially, though, the move hasn’t worked out for West Ham who are paying Wilshere £100,000 per week (WT Foot).

That has seen speculation that Wilshere could be offloaded in the next window (Football Insider).

But going into the last 12 months of his three-year deal it is unlikely West Ham will find anyone willing to buy him.

The Hammers, facing financial difficulties caused by the global health crisis, will not want to risk another £5million in wages on a player who might barely kick a ball for them.

So could Wilshere leave on an initial season-long loan?

Jack hints at initial loan exit

Well reading between the lines that’s certainly what the West Ham flop seems to be suggesting.

Wilshere has admitted the move has not worked out. And he made a point of referencing his previous loan move to Bournemouth and described how it helped him get his career back on track.

“It hasn’t worked out for me, I’ll be honest,” Wilshere told StadiumAstro.

“It hasn’t gone the way I wanted it to, I’ve missed too much football, I haven’t played enough games, I want to get back on track, get my career back on track, get playing games week-in, week-out and start to feel like a footballer again.”

“I enjoyed my time at Arsenal, and obviously I went to Bournemouth, had a good year but picked up another injury. I came back, was told that I could leave but managed to stay and fight my way back into the team and had a good year.

“Then I made the decision to leave Arsenal and join West Ham.”

Best case solution for all parties?

A loan exit could be a win-win solution for all parties.

It would also likely mean Wilshere has already played his last game for the Hammers.

West Ham boss David Moyes gets Wilshere’s £5million salary off the books, money which could go towards new arrivals.

Wilshere gets the chance to start afresh.

And his potential new employers get a talented but injury-prone player in a low risk, try before you sign deal ahead of what would be a free transfer thereafter.
