Reliable West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee appears to have dropped a hint over the potential signing of Sheffield United’s John Lundstram in January.
West Ham plan moves for striker and defender after missing out on bargain deal – insider
According to Sky Sports, talks to extend Lundstram’s contract at Sheffield United have broken down.
That means the former Everton and England Under 20 midfielder will be available on a free transfer next summer.
West Ham are short of options in central midfield. The Hammers are too reliant on the fitness of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek and only have the ageing Mark Noble and Robert Snodgrass beyond that.

Moyes handed Lundstram his first pro contract
West Ham boss David Moyes handed Lundstram his first professional contract when he was in charge at Everton.
Sky Sports report that the Blades will look to sell Lundstram in the forthcoming January window.
But with his contract up in the summer, the 26-year-old is not expected to command a large fee.
That will be hugely attractive to West Ham, who still have unspent funds from the summer window.
“The club’s latest offer – said to be in line with new contracts signed recently by other senior players at Bramall Lane – has been rejected and United will now consider offers for the midfielder when the transfer window opens in January,” Sky Sports reports.

Insider hints West Ham will be in for Blades star
Lundstram ticks all the boxes for the kind of player Moyes wants at West Ham. Powerful, energetic, quick and a real modern day box-to-box midfielder, Lundstram could be a real bargain.
And ExWHUemployee has hinted West Ham will be in for him when the window opens, having reported the club’s interest in the past.
Ex responded to Sky Sports’s report about Lundstram’s future with a suggestive post on Twitter.
He then added: “I’ve already said we have an interest in Lundstram before,” ExWHUemployee said.
“So this news is interesting going into January. I’ll explain on the podcast later.”

Midfielder ticks all the boxes for Moyes
Lundstram also knows where the goal is. He has scored five goals since Sheffield United’s return to Premier League last season.
He is the model of consistency too. According to Whoscored.com, the midfielder has an average match rating of 6.64 over the last five seasons.
West Ham will also face competition from foreign clubs in January as Lundstram can agree a pre-contract deal as a free agent for the summer.
