David Moyes told reporters today that he has great competition for places at West Ham, as quoted by WHUFC.com.

Perhaps this could be taking as a hint that we won’t be signing any new players in January.
And what a catastrophic error of judgement that could end up being from the Hammers boss.
West Ham are literally two injuries away from a slide down the table. Especially if those injuries occur to Declan Rice, Tomas Souck, Sebastien Haller or Arthur Masuaku.
Michail Antonio is out injured again now, as confirmed by Moyes today in his pre-match presser (WHUFC.com).

We are woefully short of depth and cover in the left wing-back, centre-back, central midfield and centre-forward positions. The only positions we do have any kind of depth are at left and right wing and in he goalkeeping department.
West Ham currently sit in fifth spot in the table. Moyes’s men can jump up to third with a win over Manchester United at the London Stadium tomorrow.
We are in a great position to really kick on and push for the top six now.
Unfortunately for us, however, it seems as though the board lack the ambition to take us to another level.
ExWHUemployee suggested the other night that there will not be any real money for Moyes to spend in January.
And the Scot seemed to hint that he is happy with his current options when speaking to reporters this afternoon, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“I hope the fans will recognise that we’re a more energetic and committed team. I’ve got really good competition for the team too and people who are ready to play.”
As mentioned earlier, if Moyes genuinely believes this, it is a terribly bad error of judgement.
Let’s just hope that we don’t suffer any injuries to key players. Because if we do, we could be in real trouble.
