Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to add an established striker to his ranks at the London Stadium in January.

The Sun reported earlier this month that West Ham are chasing the £30 million rated Lyon striker.

And France Football (November 24th, page 4) have backed that up by suggesting that the Hammers are closely watching Dembele and are in the picture to sign him in January.

Now, France Football are an extremely reliable source. So we can take their claims more seriously than the Sun’s, that’s for sure.

Dembele, who earns £50,000 per week according to Silly Season, would be a great addition for West Ham.

The 24-year-old joined the Ligue 1 outfit from Celtic in the summer of 2018 for around £19.7 million (BBC). He has been a real hit with the Ligue 1 outfit.

Dembele has gone on to score 44 goals in 102 appearances for Lyon. He racked up 51 goals in 94 games for Celtic before moving to France (Transfermarkt).

The former Hoops hitman has 126 goals in 277 career club games to his name (Transfermarkt).

The Frenchman is a top class striker. The 24-year-old has proved everywhere that he has been that he is capable of scoring goals consistently. He has reached an age where he will now be expected to find another level.

And if the Lyon ace does that, he could be classed as one of the top strikers in world football. Let’s just hope that he is given the platform to do it at West Ham.
