The transfer of Reims midfielder Prince Oniangué to West Ham is all but official for a fee of €3 million.
With West Ham recently signing Cheikhou Kouyate from Belgium giants Anderlecht, the signing of Oniangué is proving pivotal to replacing midfielder Mohammed Diame once his £3.5 million buy-out clause has been activated by another club.
Prince Oniangué has made 14 appearances for his national side Republic of the Congo and has scored the 1 goal.
The Reims midfielder started his footballing career in France with Ligue 1 side Rennes. He then moved on loan to Angers SCO, in which he starred 30 times. After his exciting spell for Angers SCO, he moved to Tours FC and played there for 3 seasons. Finally, he made the move to Reims in 2013.
David Gold stated at the start of the summer transfer market that the board were able to provide West Ham with a budget of £20 million which has excited all Hammers. We’ve already spent £7.5 million on Kouyate, whilst we signed Mauro Zarate for an undisclosed fee. West Ham signing Prince Oniangué for €3 million fee would surely be a bargain and it’s a great time to seal the deal as pre-season is up and coming.
