Claret and Hugh have claimed that it is pretty certain that West Ham boss David Moyes is already frantically working on one or even two striker signings.

Michail Antonio is currently out injured whilst the jury is still out on Sebastien Haller.

The 26-year-old is incredibly low on confidence at the moment. And many Hammers fans believe that he is quite simply not up to the task.

The Ivory Coast international did himself no favours by missing a sitter against Manchester United at the London Stadium on Saturday.

In truth, it’s no wonder Moyes wants another striker. Whenever the Scot speaks about Haller it is clear to see that he doesn’t rate him.

West Ham’s pursuit of Bournemouth striker Josh King has been well documented (Claret and Hugh).

Who the alleged second striker could be, however, is anyone’s guess.

The Hammers have been linked with moves for Chelsea ace Olivier Giroud (talkSPORT), Montpellier forward Gaetan Laborde (L’Equipe) and Real Madrid star Mariano Diaz (Corriere dello Sport) to name but a few.

Much will depend on how much money Moyes has to spend and whether he can increase his budget by moving on some of the deadwood like Felipe Anderson.

Whatever happens, we undoubtedly need to strengthen in January. And only time will tell whether or not the West Ham board are prepared to back Moyes sufficiently next month.
