The path has been cleared for West Ham United to sign striker target Tammy Abraham after the final straw in his situation at Chelsea.
Respected Stratford-based Telegraph journalist Matt Law, who has close ties at Chelsea, also claimed West Ham are interested in signing Abraham.
West Ham desperate for new striker this summer
West Ham’s desperation for a proper forward was once again exposed in the draw with Brighton on Saturday night.
West Ham’s hopes of being able to sign the big forward in the summer have been growing with every snub from the German manager.
Tuchel recently admitted there is no easy way back for the West Ham target at Chelsea (The Guardian).
West Ham’s fierce London rivals are also planning to sign a top class striker this summer.
Final straw for Hammers target Abraham at Chelsea… quite literally
Moyes’s hopes of landing Abraham have been boosted once again by Tuchel’s latest snub, which is being viewed as the final straw, quite literally.
That’s after Abraham was not even included in Chelsea’s squad for the FA Cup final defeat to Leicester.
The snub looks set to be the beginning of the end for Abraham in west London. And that opens the door for West Ham to make their move this summer.
And the 23-year-old’s girlfriend made her feelings towards Tuchel and the situation abundantly clear on social media.
Leah Monroe took to Instagram to voice her anger, before later deleting the message.
Girlfriend of snubbed star makes her feelings abundantly clear
“How on earth do you make the decision to leave your top goal scorer out of the squad for a final?” Monroe said.
“The same person who even scored the goals to actually qualify for this competition? It’s not making any sense whatsoever.
“Not even the bench?! This has to be a joke.”
Abraham’s friendship with West Ham star Declan Rice has been cited as a potentially key influence when it comes to choosing his next club this summer.
Whether Hammers owners David Sullivan and David Gold back Moyes with money to do a deal remains to be seen.
