West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini could benefit from the Felipe Luis’s imminent departure from Atletico Madrid.
Pellegrini is reportedly targeting two new strikers, a box-to-box midfielder, a back-up goalkeeper and a left-back this summer.
It comes as once evergreen Aaron Cresswell’s West Ham career continues to falter due to a succession of injuries.

Although that will be topped up with money from any departures.
But the Chilean has the opportunity to sign experienced Brazilian left-back Luis on a free transfer after reports from Spain this week confirmed he will leave Atletico Madrid.

Reports claim Luis departure imminent
The former Chelsea fullback, 33, is on his way out of Atleti as a result of the club’s strict policy not to offer contracts of more than one year in length to any player over the age of 30.

No-brainer for Pellegrini?
If Pellegrini can persuade Luis to return to the Premier League, he could solve a problem position with a player of great experience who would not need time to settle into the country and London life.
And crucially they will not eat into Pellegrini’s tight budget leaving more money for the striker overhaul.
Luis has great pedigree and experience with over 600 games under his belt for club and country and is in great physical condition.
Surely a no-brainer for West Ham.
