The 27-year-old joined the Hammers from Lazio in the summer of 2018 for around £35 million (The Telegraph).
Anderson made a fine start to life at the London Stadium.
But his form has taken a nose dive this season.
The Brazilian has chalked up just one goal and five assists in 24 games in all competitions for West Ham since August (Transfermarkt).
The former Lazio man is still a vital player for West Ham, however. And if he refocuses and regains his confidence, he will be a key player for David Moyes over the next few years.
Anderson sat down for an exclusive interview with 90 Min, and delivered an upbeat message for Hammers fans:
“Hello West Ham fans. I miss you, to see you filling the stadium, but we still have to stay home” he added. “I hope, as soon as I have the opportunity to play, to do my best to you, for you and for our West Ham. A big hug, be with God.”
Anderson then went on to name Pablo Zabaleta, Declan Rice and Manuel Lanzini in his best all-time teammate XI.
The inclusion of Rice will not surprise any West Ham fan. Zabaleta and Lanzini, meanwhile, might raise a few eyebrows.
The 35-year-old Argentine was a great player in his day. But he has completely lost his pace over the past couple of years and he is not the same player he once was.
Lanzini, meanwhile, has been an absolute shadow of his former self over the past 12 months or so.
So Anderson including the South American duo in his all-time teammate XI is rather surprising to say the least.
