Arsenal have been linked with renewed interest in West Ham United attacker Felipe Anderson.
The only way impending Grady Diangana sale will be remotely acceptable
With no buyers coming forward for Anderson, the likes of The Mirror claim West Ham have offered the Brazilian to Arsenal on loan for a £5 million fee.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is said to be a big fan of the 27-year-old attacking midfielder.
West Ham were big fans too, paying a then club record £40 million to sign Anderson from Lazio in 2018.
Anderson’s second season syndrome after flying start?
And he was excellent in his debut season, scoring 10 goals and providing a number of assists.
But the Arsenal target flattered to deceive for the Hammers last season, falling out of favour under David Moyes.
He scored just once and laid on four assists in the Premier League in the 2019-20 season.
However some West Ham fans believe he was made something of a scapegoat. And Anderson scored a pretty high average match rating of 6.96 according to football data experts Whoscored.com.
Hammers insider claims Anderson to Arsenal is unlikely
Arsenal’s interest in Anderson was first revealed by West Ham insider ExWHUemployee last month.
Now the reliable Twitter and podcast personality claims a loan deal for the winger between West Ham and Arsenal is ‘unlikely’.
“Not a shock (to see Arsenal in for Anderson), seeing as I reported this a month or so ago…. admittedly it wasn’t believed by many however,” ExWHUemployee said on Twitter.
“Although as this point I do not think it is likely to happen.”
Brazilian revolution at Arsenal?
According to The Mirror Arsenal looking to improve their options going forward under Arteta.
Arsenal have already completed the signings of Anderson’s fellow Brazilians, winger Willian and defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
There are no new faces at West Ham as yet with the season opener a week away.
The transfer window shuts in a month on October 5th.
