Fans have been reacting after West Ham United were linked with a surprise January move for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata.

West Ham finally got their first points of the Manuel Pellegrini era with a 3-1 win at Everton last time out.

Four defeats from four had seen the Chilean made second favourite for the sack.

But there was real evidence that he will turn things around in that excellent performance at Goodison Park.

The Hammers splashed out £100 million in the summer.

Most supporters felt the club left themselves short up front, though.

Andy Carroll is once again injured long-term while Javier Hernandez has been ineffectual.

Over-reliance on Arnie could force new Morata move?

West Ham’s over-reliance on star man Marko Arnautovic has already been evident.

While the credibility of the source may be somewhat questionable, according to the Daily Express the Hammers wanted Chelsea flop Alvaro Morata in the summer.

And the East Londoners are already being linked with a loan bid in January with the Spain international’s game time limited by the burgeoning partnership between Olivier Giroud and Eden Hazard.

‘Take Hernandez in a swap’

It remains to be seen whether West Ham could tempt Morata to move across London.

But supporters are excited by the potential move judging by some of the reactions on Twitter.

A number of Chelsea fans want him out and some even suggest trying to get Hernandez in a swap.
