Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has made a huge claim about Brighton star Tariq Lamptey and West Ham must pounce.
Ask any West Ham fan what David Moyes’ priority should be in the winter window and a new right-back would be right near the top of the list.
West Ham desperately needed a young, modern, pacy right-back in the summer window.
But it was naively neglected and the Hammers have been paying a heavy price all season long.
Neither Vladimir Coufal or Ben Johnson have been anywhere near the required standard for a modern full-back in the Premier League so far this season and for much of the second half of last term too.

Fabrizio Romano makes huge claim about Brighton star Tariq Lamptey and West Ham must pounce
West Ham have been linked with Man United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Spurs outcast Djed Spence. But Wan-Bissaka looks set to remain at Old Trafford having impressed Erik ten Hag.
And there are doubts as to whether Tottenham would deal with the Hammers as frosty relations at board level have seen an unofficial transfer embargo between the rivals for over a decade.
Now Fabrizio Romano has made a huge claim about Brighton star Tariq Lamptey and West Ham must pounce.
Lamptey has made his name as one of the quickest young right-backs in the Premier League with Brighton. He is also just as adept at playing right wingback and can even play in midfield.
The 22-year-old Chelsea academy graduate would be absolutely perfect for West Ham and would bring a whole new dynamic to the side.
Lamptey has played just three league games for Brighton this season under new boss Roberto De Zerbi.

And fellow Italian Romano claims he could be sold before the January transfer window deadline next week.
Lyon, who were knocked out of the Europa League by West Ham last season, are said to be keen on signing Lamptey.
That begs the question, what are West Ham waiting for?
The Hammers should be absolutely all over Lamptey like a rash if he is indeed available.
He’s a London boy and a great character who is, by all accounts, one of the most likeable players in the league.
Perhaps West Ham can come to an agreement with Brighton over a loan deal with an obligation to buy in the summer so as to conclude it quickly.
