Fabrizio Romano has given his trademark ‘here we go’ to an eighth West Ham signing of a remarkable summer window while the team faces Celta Vigo.
Barely an hour had passed from West Ham announcing the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo than another has been confirmed.
French centre-back Todibo became West Ham’s seventh arrival of their summer overhaul.
And the 24-year-old is arguably the best of the lot.
Todibo’s arrival came too late for any involvement on West Ham’s final pre-season friendly of the summer against Celta Vigo.
No sooner had Hammers fans got their heads around that capture than another has followed hot on its heels.
While Todibo was putting the finishing touches to his move, it emerged this morning that Aaron Wan-Bissaka was missing from Man United’s Community Shield squad.
A top insider confirmed that was because he is on the verge of signing for the Hammers.
Romano gives eighth West Ham signing the ‘here we go’
Hours later there has been another major announcement.
Fabrizio Romano has given an eighth West Ham signing the ‘here we go’ during the Celta Vigo clash as Wan-Bissaka joins.
“Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham, here we go!” Romano said just before the Hammers faced their Spanish opponents.
“Verbal agreement in place for right back to join West Ham from Man United as planned.
“Understand medical tests already booked on Sunday for AWB! Fee will be £15m.
“Man United authorised AWB to travel… Mazraoui, joining (Man United) soon.”

Wan-Bissaka joins Hammers and they may not be done yet
The capture brings an end to protracted talks between West Ham and Man United for the right-back.
Julen Lopetegui identified that area as a big weakness with the ageing Vladimir Coufal their only option there.
The exciting news is, West Ham may not be done there either.
The top spokesman inside the club told Hammers News that West Ham are still in the mix for ‘several’ signings as ‘we still need a few more’.
Todibo has arrived and now Wan-Bissaka looks set to follow.
But displaced Hammers stars may now push to move on, freeing up space for even more signings.
Wan-Bissaka was wanted by Lopetegui at Wolves and seems like he will be a perfect fit for West Ham.
The Hammers are crying out for better defensive options, as was clear again in the game against Celta Vigo.
Wan-Bissaka is an exceptional defender and also ticks the versatility box for Tim Steidten and Lopetegui.
West Ham’s rise under David Moyes was built on a solid defence. That solidity was nowhere to be found last season as the Hammers conceded a Premier League club record 74 goals.
West Ham defensive overhaul sorely needed
Lopetegui is known to place high importance on being defensively solid as a starting point.
Wan-Bissaka is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s best one-on-one defenders.
He is exceptional when it comes to tackling, interceptions, and positional awareness. His ability to read the game and make crucial defensive interventions will only make West Ham’s backline stronger.
And goodness knows they need it.
The former Palace man can play as a right-back or a right-sided centre-back in a back three, offering tactical flexibility to Lopetegui.
West Ham supporters appreciate hard-working, committed players who give their all on the pitch, and Wan-Bissaka embodies those qualities.
West Ham want to consistently challenge for the European spots and Wan-Bissaka will be key if they are going to achieve that.
