David Moyes goes head to head with Burnley boss Sean Dyche tonight, the manager linked with replacing him at West Ham United.

West Ham take on Burnley at the London Stadium in a game which could go a long way to deciding whether the Hammers stay up this season.

Many West Ham fans did not want Moyes back when Manuel Pellegrini was sacked.

Some supporters feel the Scot is not progressive enough and preferred a move for another reported target, Dyche – who has worked wonders at Burnley.

Former defender Dyche was one of the prime candidates to replace Pellegrini as West Ham boss at the turn of the year.

Dyche was West Ham target and he was interested in Hammers job

And the Burnley manager was seriously interested too claimed The Guardian.

Dyche reportedly wanted the opportunity to speak to West Ham.

But owners David Sullivan and David Gold eventually took the unpopular decision to re-appoint David Moyes on an 18-month contract.

West Ham fans believe that was because the owners did not want to pay out for a new manager. And Moyes was available for nothing given he had been out of work for 18 months since leaving the Hammers the first time around.

Some Hammers supporters made it clear they want the Burnley boss as their next manager – read full story here.

Now reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has revealed the club could land Dyche if they wanted to.

Insider reveals unlikely friendship between Brady and Dyche

And it is in part thanks to a somewhat unlikely friendship with Hammers vice-chairman Karren Brady.

When West Ham fans want answers they turn to Ex.

And the anonymous insider revealed the information when asked about Dyche on his latest West Ham Way podcast.

“Before we got Moyes he was heavily linked by myself and a number of people,” ExWHUemployee said on the West Ham Way podcast.

“He’s a good friend of Karren Brady for some random reason. I don’t know why, but he is. And he has also expressed an interest in managing us.

‘We could get Dyche if we wanted him’

“I believe if we wanted to get Sean Dyche next year we could. (But) I don’t think if we stay up they’ll get rid of Moyes, I think Moyes will be the manager next year and I think if we did go down Dyche would obviously not leave Burnley for us…

“But if Moyes was to suddenly go or he was to get the sack then I think Dyche would be interested and I think we would approach him.”

Dyche is reportedly at loggerheads with his Burnley bosses over player contracts (Daily Mail).
