ExWHUemployee has speculated that West Ham may consider selling Manuel Lanzini in the summer, if a decent offer comes in for the Argentine, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast on Wednesday night (March 4th).
The 26-year-old joined West Ham on loan for the 2015/16 campaign.
He then made his move to the Hammers a permanent one the following summer for around £9 million, according to the Daily Mail.
Lanzini immediately established himself as a real fan favourite at West Ham.
But his form has dipped dramatically over the past year or so. And he has been one of West Ham’s most criticised players this season.
David Moyes seems to have finally realised that the 26-year-old is not the player he once was.
And ExWHUemployee claimed that the former River Plate man could be moved on this summer, if the price is right, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast on Wednesday (March 4th):
“I think we probably have seen the end of him in terms of a top quality player. If an offer comes in for him I think we’ll accept it. If it’s within our asking range. However, will an offer come in for him now? I can imagine that his career at West Ham will not be anything like it was.”
Lanzini has made 19 Premier League appearances for West Ham this season. And he has racked up just two assists and no goals (premierleague.com).
The 26-year-old has attempted just 19 shots on goal, with an underwhelming accuracy rate of 37%, and he has created only two big chances (premierleague.com).
Those numbers are quite simply not good enough for an attacking player.
And the Argentine might just have to show something between now and the end of the season, if he is to still have a future at West Ham.
