ExWHUemployee has claimed on Twitter that Andriy Yarmolenko could leave West Ham in the summer, even if the east London outfit stay up this season, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast on Wednesday night (March 11th).
The 30-year-old joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2018 for around £17.5 million (Evening Standard).
The 86-capped Ukraine international has struggled to establish himself at the London Stadium, however.
Yarmolenko, who earns £115,000 per week according to Spotrac, has made just 25 appearances for West Ham, racking up only five goals and two assists in the process (Transfermarkt).
The 30-year-old missed the majority of his debut campaign in England through injury, and he has experienced similar problems this season.
The Ukrainian hasn’t played for West Ham since injuring his thigh against Southampton in December.
And ExWHUemployee has predicted that Yarmolenko will leave West Ham in the summer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast on Wednesday night:
“If we get relegated, Yarmolenko is going to go, even if we stay up, he’s probably going to go.”
The Ukrainian’s contract with West Ham doesn’t expire until the summer of 2022.
And if the Hammers could sell him for a decent fee, it might just be a good move for them.
Most West Ham fans wouldn’t be upset to see Yarmolenko leave the London Stadium.
